New Players

If this is the first time you are planning to come to a Banished event, then this is a great place to start.   I have broken this down into three types, first is if you plan to PC or NPC, then PC, and finally NPC.  PC represents those who are paying for the weekend, NPC is for those volunteering to be all the  other creatures the players come in contact with at the direction of the Plot Staff.

A) Either PCing (player character) or NPCing (non-player character)

  1. Read the Core Rules.  No matter what your planning to do when you come to a Banished event you need to make sure you read the Core Rules.   You don’t have to be an expert but you should be at least familiar with them.  During the event if you don’t remember what something does you can say “Clarification, what does that do?” and whoever used the effect on you will explain it.
  2. Make sure you come to the event early.  Before the event we typically do a rules briefing.  @melissa0905 can help you if you have any questions.
  3. Make sure to bring bedding, change of cloths, socks, towel, and toiletries.  Basically anything that will make you feel comfortable running around at a camp site.  Good Shoes are very important.
  4. Plus either B (PC only) or C (NPC only) as appropriate.

B) If your PCing (player character)

  1. Everything in section A.
  2. Now you need to make a character and E-mail it to records@banishedlarp.com.  Here is a help page on that- How to Make a Character
  3. Because your play a character now, you need to make sure that you understand what all of your skills do.  You don’t need to know everyone else’s skills, the core rules will tell you how to react.  The full Rulebook is here: Rulebook
  4. Make sure you bring a costume, spell packets, and/or boffer weapons.  If you have any questions on any of these post your question on the Forum
  5. Make sure you look at the Camp Site and which cabins are in the PC area.
  6. If you have any questions find Melissa @melissa0905

If your trying to come out to the next event you need to Pre-Reg.

Pre-regging is simply reserving your spot at the event and letting staff know to expect you.  As an incentive you get a discount.  To Pre-Reg go to the event page, click on the event you want to attend and scroll down to the bottom.  You can choose to pay at the event or Pre-Pay (getting another discount) by paying using PayPal.
